Case Study: e-Learning
A global brand in batteries

A global corporation needed a better way to train employees on battery
products and technologies. Trainees were from diverse areas and
speaking up to thirteen different languages. In addition, they needed to
be sure that employees were retaining the knowledge.
Path to Success
- Communication – Amicus “story-boarded” content to effectively communicate their design and development
- Technology – Outdated presentations were redesigned by Amicus with high-quality Macromedia Flash templates that could be modified to create new courses.
- Collaboration – The training portal was designed to allow collaboration of courses, training materials, manuals, etc. with corporate trainers from around the globe.
- System Administration – Testing was incorporated to help target learning needs and understand knowledge retention. Amicus also developed session tracking and reporting, so corporate trainers could gauge the success of the training materials.
- Security – Sessions would time-out from inactivity. Password failures and other security events logged.
Results
- Centralized Management – All training courses and materials were managed from a single web site. Trainers could upload text and images to modify content and/or create new courses.
- Web Delivery – High Quality Multi-Media Tools, as well as streamlined user interface were developed
- Web Management Tools – Testing results and session tracking allowed trainers to evaluate the effectiveness of their courses and materials. Administrators had tools to manage site security and user access to materials.
- Automation – Employees would be notified via e-mail, when courses
become available.
