Case Study: Koozba

Social Networking Portal
An entrepreneur came up with a new idea – use video to help first-time
job seekers start their career. In turn, employers could screen job
prospects on-line.
The International Level Personal Assessment Test (Thomas test) would
be integrated in the portal to establish a base set of skills for the
applicant.
Path to Success
- Innovation – Amicus proposed the idea of “Institutes”, which provided a natural channel for new job seekers to register with the web site.
- Social Network – Amicus recommended social networking techniques to help communication between parties.
- Durable Design – Amicus chose the Adobe Flash, FLV, file format for video to allow compatibility with modern browsers
- Open Source – Amicus chose Linux, because of it’s resiliency with the demands of video and the vast library of development tools. LAMP technologies also provided a reasonable price-point for the portal.
Results
- Social Media Adapts to a New Market – Employers post 200+ jobs per week on the site. First-time job seekers have a powerful tool for their job search.
- A Better Way to Interview – Employers have better tools to find that
perfect applicant with the help of video and a standardized test for
personality.

- Koozba wins the 2011 Red Herring Global Top 100 Startups
